Our Parish is formally described as the Grouped Parishes of Castleknock and Mulhuddart with Clonsilla. The Parish is a big and diverse one, stretching from Cabra and Finglas in the east to Clonee in the west, from the River Liffey and the middle of the Phoenix Park to the south as far as the Ward (4 miles south of Ashbourne) to the north. The area is one of significant population growth – the total population of the Greater Blanchardstown area has gone up in 35 years from about 1,650 to approx. 200,000 people, a process that shows no signs of diminishing. Half of our church families are inter-church families.
We are a welcoming Parish, to visitors and new residents alike. Our services are a mix of Holy Communion (2-3 Sundays per month), in which members of all churches are welcome to receive the Sacrament, and different services of the word, including services oriented more specifically to younger members and those young at heart.
Within the Parish there are three churches:
Saint Brigid’s Church, Castleknock, is situated in the centre of Castleknock Village and is the largest church in the group (D15 P954).
Saint Thomas’ Church, Mulhuddart, is situated on the Kilbride Road between the Chapelwood and Alderwood Estates (D15 AX76).
Saint Mary’s Church, Clonsilla, is situated at the west end of the Clonsilla Road in some trees near Clonsilla Railway Station (D15 H582).
